Duracoat Firearm Paint jobs.

Now at Spetsnaz, we will paint your marker or Firearm to Customer Specs.

Using Duracoat paint, you can be assured once it has cured, Your marker or firearm will look just like new, years from now.

Wonder how Paul does it?

Here is a step by step inside view of the process.

Step 1. Prep for Paint

- Strip down the marker or firearm into it's simplest parts to prep for Sandblasting.

- Areas that do not require basting are taped and preserved.

- Once Sandblasting is completed, the surface is ready to be degreased.

(you can see that the parts are now a grey color rather than a nice black. This is due to the sandblasting roughing up the surface of the paint, or that all paint has been removed and bare metal is now visible)

Step 2. Taping

- To ensure fitting parts will continue to fit together as they should, they are taped.

- Lenses, barrels, mechanics etc are also tapped or plugged to keep the paint off areas we do not desire the paint to stick.

Step 3. The Base Coat

- Each piece is carefully painted one by one using the Duracoat basecoat.

- If you desire only one color, the basecoat will be applied in 3 coats.

- Some Custom paint jobs require more than one color.  The base coat acts as the foundation for the following coats.

- Each piece is put into a kiln between every coat to allow the paint to cure and harden.

- Between each coat the pieces are reassembled to ensure proper fit.

Step 4. Adding the Second Color

- Depending on customer specifications, if multiple colors are requested taping begins to add the next colors.

Every tape job is different according to the pattern and amount of colors desired.

Below is a tiger stripe tape job.

- Once the tape has been placed, the second color is then added.  Once applied, the pieces return to the kiln to cure.

Step 5. Adding Remaining Colors

- Step 4 is repeated until the pattern the customer has requested has been completed.

- Between each coat and each color, the tape is applied specifically to the pattern.  The pieces are painted then cured.

- Once the pattern is completed, two layers of duracoat clear coat are added to give you two extra layers of protection.

- Once Paul has finished painting your firearm or marker you are left with a one of a kind, durable masterpiece.
